South Alabama, producer Roy Etheridge, who grows about 2,300 acres of cotton near Thomaston, feels he had outstanding results with N-Hibit in 2005. Etheridge says that while he, like most farmers, is in a cost-cutting mode these days, he does feel the money spent on N-Hibit is worth it.
“Of the three seed treatments I used last year, the 250 acres of cotton where I used N-Hibit™ was the only place I could see a visual difference in the crop. In fact, I had a 24-row skip due to wet ground that I planted the next day with seed not treated with N-Hibit. When the crop was knee-high, the cotton on either side of those 24 rows was a good two to three inches taller than the cotton that didn’t get N-Hibit. There was something there for sure, and at less than four dollars per acre for the treatment, I think there was certainly a value to it.”
