Harp-N-Tek Products for Soybeans

N-Hibit™ Seed Treatment is a unique new seed treatment that increases soybean yield and reduces nematodes. N-Hibit increased soybean yields an average of 3.2 bushels per acre in replicated commercial field trials, for a return on investment of 5-to-1. N-Hibit improves soybean root vigor and growth (root length, volume, and dry weight.)

And, N-Hibit is a new tool for managing Soybean Cyst Nematodes. In replicated greenhouse work by independent agricultural research scientists, N-Hibit reduced soybean cysts per root weight by roughly 40%.

In a University of Illinois trial, there was three times less growth in SCN egg counts in N-Hibit treated soybean roots compared with the Untreated Control.

At 0.3 ounces per cwt of seed, N-Hibit provides an economical option in soybeans for reducing cyst nematodes and improving plant health, growth, and yield.

The N-Hibit impact on SCN and the average yield increases of over 3 bushels per acre from N-Hibit-treated soybeans encouraged the American Soybean Association and Plant Health Care to implement the N-Hibit [should we add “Gold”] Partnership Program in 2007. Participating ASA members will evaluate the seed treatment on their own soybeans and in their own cropping systems.

N-Hibit comes in two formulations. N-Hibit CST is a Commercial Seed Treatment applied by the seed dealer. N-Hibit HB is a Hopper Box Treatment for on-farm application to the seed at planting.

ProAct™ Plant Health Regulator is one of the next-generation Harp-N-Tek™ protein products designed specifically to provide a yield boost for row crops such as soybeans. In replicated and commercial field trials from 2005 and 2006, ProAct increased soybean yields an average of 2.48 bushels per acre. This yield increase with ProAct offers about a 3-to-1 return on investment. ProAct treatments were typically applied during early bloom (R1 to R2) and generally included a nonionic surfactant at 0.25% v/v.

ProAct is compatible with most post-emergence fungicides, insecticides, growth regulators, and foliar nutrients applied to soybeans. Just add ProAct to the tank first for best results. This provides extra flexibility in application timing and saves a separate pass over the crop that can be costly in terms of time, fuel, and compaction.

ProAct is rain fast after 30 minutes or after spray materials dry. There will be no detectable residue of ProAct remaining within hours of the application. N-Hibit has been tested at 100 times field application rates and no Harpin Protein was detected on the harvested soybeans. ProAct has not been found to cause phytotoxicity or crop injury.
